This classic motor sailer is constructed in pitch pine on oak frames. The hull is of carvel construction and in excellent condition. Josie is a well built, reliable boat, built by the William and Parkinson boatyard in Deganwy, North Wales in 1934. She is a classic, local boat and has featured in the 2019 filming of the Judy Dench, Eddie Izzard and Jim Broadbent war drama 'Six Minutes to Midnight'.
The vessel and engine were completely rewired in 2009/10 and invoices are available to support this. The engine is very reliable and full details of the engine rebuild are are also available. Use of the engine since 2010 has been limited to coastal waters in and around Anglesey.
This classic motor sailer comes well presented with a comprehensive inventory. She currently has a Bermudan rig and the main mast is less than two years old. It was manufactured by Waterfront Marine at Port Penrhyn. A second, mizzen, mast comes with the boat and this is currently in store. There is the option of fitting a post within the wheelhouse shelf over a main beam to fit the mizzen mast to enable a ketch rig and a good increase to the sail area.
Surveys of the boat were undertaken in 2009 and 2011. These are available for inspection together with a full inventory of the work undertaken to comply with the survey recommendations. Invoices for this work are also available.
The boat is currently afloat at Port Penrhyn and available for viewing by prior arrangement.
