A compact and easy handling RIB, this SR550 was built in North Wales. It is an excellent all-round boat suitable for family sports use, safety boat or commercial use.

Its 26-degree deadrise GRP hull, offers strength and performance combined with weight saving. It provides functionality and capability in a 5.5m boat, with seating for 4 people.

Construction

The 2016 SR550 is a compact 5.5m RIB. The GRP deep ‘V’ hull has inverted strakes which allow improved grip whilst turning and extra straight-line speed. The sponsons are set at an angle to prevent drag and spray over all creating a smooth and soft ride. At slow speeds the craft settles onto the sponsons which afford a high degree of stability. They are designed for beach/surf launching and are built to be strong, to shed water easily and to be agile.

The white hull is twinned with dark blue tubes and seating for a classy look. It has a central helm position, which features hydraulic steering, with a centrally mounted helm seat. In addition, there are two rear seats and a forward console seat, giving overall seating for 4 people; maximum of 8 persons on board.

For storage, there is an anchor bow locker, which includes an anchor, chain and warp, two removable fuel tanks (20L and 30L). To the stern, there is a stainless-steel ‘A’ frame with a high-level tow point, and additional twin ‘D’ rings on the transom.Sea Monkey is supplied with a single axle Indespension unbraked rollercoaster trailer.
